Laser Skin Treatments

Laser skin treatment involves removing skin very precisely, layer-by-layer by vaporising it. Lasers remove the outer layer of your skin – the epidermis – and heats the underlying layer, called the dermis. The lasers stimulate the growth of new collagen fibers resulting in new skin that is smoother and firmer

Our Laser Skin Treatments

Here at Neat Aesthetics, we offer 4 varieties of laser skin treatments; Pigmentation, Acne, Rosacea and Anti-Ageing. It all starts off with an in-depth skin consultation to speak with you about your concerns so we can advise what the best treatment is for you.

Our Laser Skin Treatments

Laser Pigmentation Removal works to safely and effectively reduce the appearance of freckles, pigmentation, sun spots and age spots. The laser targets only the pigmented lesion in the skin which absorbs the light, without damaging the surrounding skin. The laser heats up and shatters the pigment.

Gentle, safe and almost completely pain-free, Laser Pigmentation Removal is a great way to achieve smoother-textured skin, and a more even skin tone. It can treat a range of pigmentation concerns and can be performed on both the face and the body.

The red pigmentation and skin pitting of old acne scars often remain behind after active acne is ended. Here, too, your skin can benefit from laser treatment. Both redness and pits respond to the energy delivered by cosmetic lasers, which creates a controlled healing cycle by warming collagen and elastin tissue in your skin’s middle layer.

Though this tissue is only warmed slightly over your normal body temperature, it’s enough that your brain perceives that the tissue is sufficiently damaged to require attention. The warmed tissue is slowly flushed from your body as new collagen and elastin are created. The red pigment leaves with the damaged tissue and new production starts to fill in the voids of acne scars.

Laser treatment for rosacea uses a pulsed dye laser called Vbeam. The laser delivers intermittent pulses of yellow light that target the blood vessels without damaging surrounding tissue.

The blood vessels being treated absorb this yellow light, which heats them and causes them to collapse and be reabsorbed by the body.

The Vbeam laser also destroys broken capillaries, which are the cause of persistent redness in people with rosacea.

Patients generally need three Vbeam laser treatments to see the best results. Sessions are spaced three to four weeks apart.

Is your ageing skin making you feel less confident? Sun exposure, lifestyle choices, and birthdays can all leave their mark on your skin. Certain wavelengths of laser light are absorbed by pigment molecules in the skin. The energy absorbed is converted to heat causing a breakup in the pigment. In “age spots” and melasma, the target pigment is melanin. In broken capillaries and spider veins the laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the blood and collapses the unwanted veins. For wrinkles, skin tightening and skin toning the laser stimulates collagen and elastin regrowth.

The effects are cumulative. After the first treatment, you will see improvements to broken capillaries, small facial veins and some pigmented areas within a few days. Other improvements such as wrinkle reduction, skin tightening and toning will be more subtle and may take one to three months.  With each subsequent treatment, subtle changes will accumulate until you have achieved the improvement you desire.

Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness, swelling and/or a slight darkening of pigmented areas. The redness and swelling usually dissipate within one to three days however darkened pigmentation may persist and peel lightly for up to one week. Makeup can be applied to the treated area immediately, if necessary. It is extremely important to apply an SPF50 sun block and avoid sun exposure on a daily basis to prevent additional sun damage.
